Jun. 30th, 2009 01:36 pmThings of lately:
- I really thought we had figured out the damned holiday time situation last week but it turns out that I was wrong. The thing my boss and I had figured out apparently no longer works because she didn't understand what she was talking about so we had to make some other arrangement. Really, the new thing is no less hassle than the old thing but I would really like some consistency, dammit.
- In happier news, I made stewed apples last night and they are fantastic. I had some with my lunch.
- I also have basil tea. Y'know, the first time I made that, I really thought that I wasn't going to like it but it turns out that I enjoy in immensely. I am drying some of my basil as well, so that I can continue to make the tea in the winter.
- Speaking of food preservation, Mom and I are going to make pickles at some point this summer. See, my Nana made the only pickles I have ever enjoyed and alas, she is no longer with us. But we have (an approximation of) her recipe! So we are going to make pickles. Huzzah! I am sort of ridiculously excited about this.
- Also, I have learned to make cables on crocheted garments. I am also ridiculously excited about that. Now all I have to do is learn to approximate Fair Isle in crochet and I will no longer have anything on my list of Things I'll Have to Learn to Knit in Order to Do. I am making a cable-y sweater. It is bright red and very pretty. So go me.
In balance, the good things of today are far outweighing the annoying things. Therefore, I win.
