Geeky knitting thing:

So, we get the knitpicks catalog. And I was glancing through it this morning over breakfast, mostly looking at sock yarn because that is what I do.

They have a new self-striping sock yarn called Time Traveler (towards the bottom), which is clearly patterned after the fourth Doctor's scarf. That is amazing and, once it actually become available for purchase, must be mine.

Possibly, it should become my first attempt at knitted knee socks...

Okay, the one good thing that has come out of the current cold is that I have discovered Ricola's Natural Herb cough drops. They are awesome.

For one thing, everything in the ingredient list is something I can both identify and pronounce. And for another, they taste like complex peppermints. I love peppermints and use them both as candy and semi-medicinally for settling my stomach, and these are like peppermints but better, because of the subtle extra underlying flavors. They are maybe the best cough drops ever.

I am almost slightly disappointed that my cold is clearing up because then I won't have any excuse to keep eating them. Almost.

The Jack-dog has been having skin problems of late that may be allergies or may be something else, so today he had a skin biopsy. And the vet sent him home in a Cone of Shame, which he has to wear for two weeks.

So now he's a little woozy from anesthetic and can't quite figure out where the edges of the cone are and is, essentially, the saddest dog in the world. Even his tail is sad - normally, Jack's tail wags constantly, like a metronome, but there is no wag in Jackville tonight.

Poor sad wagless dog.
