Just had a patron ask me if I was done with high school.

Lady, in just over two months, I will officially be too old for Archie Goodwin to date. Yes, I am done with high school.

I hate the school of thought that it's a complement to be mistaken for a minor.

Yeah. She was all, "Well, what a lovely compliment!" and all I could think was, "No. No."

Seriously, how old do you have to get to really want to be a teenager again? Not for a million dollars would I do that, I tell you what.

Ugh. I hate when people do that to me. And then when I'm visibly irritated, people are like, "But it's a compliment! Everybody wants to look young!"

I was in Home Depot a couple weeks ago, looking at bathroom vanities, and a contractor guy asked if I was headed off to college. I totally squinted at him.

I'm trying now to decide if this was better or worse than when I actually was in high school and people kept asking a) how old my (completely non-existent) kids were or b) if I was married to my father.
