darchildre: the outline of a 20-sided die over a faded rainbow on a black background (d&d time!)

Tried to play more Starforged tonight before realizing that I was too tired to focus (another cool thing about solo rpgs is that it's fine to occasionally have a session that's only 15 minutes long). I did get to the point where I needed to introduce a new NPC.

Right now, I've decided that, in order to surprise myself as much as possible and also to try out as much of the game as possible, I'm letting both NPCs and a lot of the setting stuff be determined by the oracles provided in the book. (As long as the rolled results aren't completely incongruous to what I'm rolling for, and mostly the oracles are open enough that you can make most things fit with a little thought.) This has been working pretty well so far - I'm sure I'll eventually get to the point where I want more purpose-built settings and characters, but right now I like it.

The NPCs I met in my first session were perfectly serviceable but the one I rolled up tonight I immediately fell in love with. Which means that (since solo rpgs mean you get to tailor everything to your personal taste) they are now going to be much more important than I originally anticipated so that I can keep them around as long as possible.

I may already have tentative plans to just permanently install them on my character's spaceship.
