darchildreSome of my new coloring books arrived last night and, since they are Dover coloring books, they are nominally educational. Which is why I have now learned, via coloring book, that in the 1820's, vaqueros in California used to rope grizzly bears for fun.
1) I'm sorry, that's the most amazing thing I've heard all week, oh my god, BEAR RODEO.
2) My brain immediately went, "But what if the vaqueros were riding the bears, though?" Like, alternate history bear cowboys, like River of Teeth but with bears and in Spanish. I require a five-book series revolving around this premise immediately.
Barring that, I will have to start a second Ironsworn game using the Badlands setting and make a bear-riding vaquero of my own.
