One of the things that I love about working at the library is tiny children who come to the library wearing costumes for no apparent occasion.

Today, there is a little boy in a Batman costume with, and this is the crowning glory, Spider-Man wellingtons.

I'm pretty sure that if you tried to combine Bruce Wayne and Peter Parker into one person they, or possibly the universe, would explode but still. Well done, that kid.

In other happy library news:

We have this program called Freegal, which is a stupid name but is a totally awesome thing that lets you download 3 free tracks a week from a surprisingly large catalog of music and keep those tracks forever. (Seriously, check your local library and see if they have this - it's great.)

There's this teenage girl in the library whom I've never seen before, but who happened to see the flyer for Freegal on our desk. So she asked me about it and I told her what it is and her eyes seriously lit up with glee.

I really like making people's eyes light up with glee.
