(no subject)

Today!

- I am starting my purple robot cardigan. (The robots will not be included for a long time, as the cardigan is knitted top-down and I plan to put the robots along the bottom.) For the curious, I am planning to use the robot chart from this pattern, but with turquoise instead of red. I am excited.

- I am baking cookies. Probably. Mom asked for cookies and I said yes and now I have to pick a recipe. Maybe I will do spicy chocolate chip again. Those were lovely.

- I am going to the movies. To see Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (I was going to see Fright Night but it is no longer playing where I live.) Since I have a four day weekend, I may go to the movies more than once in the next few days. I want to see Apollo 18 as well.

- I am getting ready for tomorrow, which will involve escorting my grandmother on the plane to Atlanta, sitting in the Atlanta airport for a few hours, and then flying back home. Which is not an ideal day, but I will bring my knitting and I've loaded up my kindle and mp3 player with new things, so it shouldn't be terribly unpleasant. I don't like hanging around in airports near as much as train stations, but they're all right and tend to have better food options.

Had no chocolate chips, so I made pepper cookies instead. Only today, instead of a 1 1/2 tsp of black pepper, I put a teaspoon of black pepper and 1/4 tsp each of white pepper and cayenne.

They are almost too spicy for me. Not quite, but I'd certainly not be able to eat many of them at a sitting. However, they are amazing. You can taste the pepper right up front but the cayenne waits a little bit and really only gets you when you swallow.

I'm going to have to remember this variation.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is not a great movie or anything, but it is a perfectly serviceable horror flick and a fun way to spend a couple hours. I have very little other than that to say about it, but here are a few tiny and slightly spoilery things:
