Aug. 22nd, 2011 08:08 amWell, my kindle is broken. The screen is all dark and unreadable and I had to call customer service about it.
Good things: they are going to send me a new one, even though my kindle is a few years old and out of warranty. (I do have to pay for it, but not as much as for a new kindle.) Also, the vast majority of the fanfic I had on my kindle is still in kindle-readable files on my computer, to be transferred back when the new one arrives.
Bad things: I'm currently in that place where the only thing I want to read is fanfic, which requires the kindle when I am at work. So now I have to find a book to read and nothing feels properly satisfying at the moment.
Still, that is a small bad thing. And the phone call wasn't too painful - I feel like I'm getting a little better about phone calls lately. There's still a few moments of paralyzing anxiety beforehand and being on hold makes it worse because it gives me time to think, but about 75% of the time, I actually end up making the phone call, which is something.
And that is my morning so far.
