OMG, library patron, I am on the phone with another patron talking about a complicated series of hold requests and renewals. Perhaps this is not the time to talk to me about the fact that you need a pencil. Did your parents neglect to teach you manners?

That is what the tiny pencils by the computers are for!

And they almost always preface it with "This will only take a second" or something else that refuses to acknowledge that you are already busy...or just deems it unimportant to them.
