This morning, I had my first physical in...a while. So that was fun. Also, my very first pap smear. (The last time I had a physical, I was told that it wasn't necessary to have one until I became sexually active. Ahahaha. Possibly, both the doctor and I were, at that time, making some erroneous assumptions.) Which was unpleasant, but not as bad as it could have been and now is over. And the doctor was very nice and pleasant and nonjudgmental when I mentioned being asexual (as a response to her question about the possibility of my becoming sexually active). So that was good. Now the physical is over, I've had a flu shot, and am sporting a pink camo bandaid. Hurrah.
In other news, I am making tea eggs. Because one of the foods I don't particularly care for and always wish that I did is hardboiled eggs. (Well, and bananas. Foods that come in their own natural packaging.) But I came across this recipe and thought, "Those are pretty and contain a lot of flavors that I like. Perhaps those flavors will make the egg taste acceptable." So, I am conducting a tea egg experiment. They're supposed to steep for several hours, so I won't be able to try them till dinner time, but the steeping liquid smells nice, so I am hopeful. Wish me luck.

Date: 2012-12-05 07:16 pm (UTC)They tried to give me a pap smear a few years ago and I was so nervous and clenched that they, uh, couldn't get in to do it. I'm not really sure what the solution is for that. At the time they just gave me a blood test instead?
Less TMI-ly, tea eggs sound really neat. CURIOUS. Are you just using regular black tea?

Date: 2012-12-06 02:37 am (UTC)I did not care for the tea eggs, but that is due to the insurmountable issue of them still tasting like hardboiled eggs. 8) If you like hardboiled eggs, you should totally try them - they're pretty and quite easy to make. I just used regular black tea bags. (Someone in the comments to the recipe mentions trying lapsang souchong instead, which could be really interesting, I think.)
