So, I have a coworker who's trying to come up with some movies to play at the library in December that are winter-but-not-Christmas movies. The requirements are that they not contain Santa or Jesus but that they do contain at least one scene with snow in it.
This afternoon, while discussing it with one of our other coworkers (who is a film buff and helps run the library movie night every month), we could only come up with movies that were a) really bleak, b) wholly inappropriate for showing at the library, or c) both. ("Ginger Snaps 3 has snow in it," I said. "Let the Right One In is full of snow," movie buff coworker said. "Ooh, we could watch The Thing!" I said. "And The Shining!" he said. "There's The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," I said, "except that contains both Santa and Jesus.")
Can any of you think of any happy movies with snow but with neither Santa nor Jesus?

Or maybe When Harry Met Sally, its got all sorts of seasons, including the finale at New Years. Maybe just fast forward through the deli scene.
This is harder than it sounds isn't it.

March of the Penguins?
Happy Feet?
The Dark is Rising movie thing?

One of the X-Files movies was snowy, but I can't recall which.

Any movie set in the northern climes will have snow - maybe Fargo, though I've not seen it so can't speak to the presence of Santa or Jesus. If you are okay with foreign movies, there would be even more to pick from. Movies made in areas with snow - oh, one of the Bond movies takes place partially in the Ice Hotel.
Bourne Legacy has several scenes in snow but it isn't out until Dec 11.

Oooh, or The Empire Strikes Back. That has lots of snow.
The Spy Who Came In from the Cold. It's... not happy? Except for how I guess we know that Communism eventually loses? If you count that as happy. And it does have Richard Burton in it.
