First thing in the morning is not the time for the electric kettle to pretend it isn't working.
I make multiple cups of tea throughout the day. The kettle is free to frell with me at other times when I am capable of dealing with it with more equanimity. Not turning on at breakfast time is unacceptable.
(Fortunately, it did eventually turn on after some panicked jostling. Thank goodness.)
