darchildre: the fourth doctor's scarft (crafty geek)

Today was kinda slow at work, so I ended up browsing ravelry (as I do). Which led to me having a craving for a new sock project. (I have a sock on the needles and it's the second of the pair but I am not feeling it right now, y'know?) But I couldn't find quite what I wanted or, rather, I found a lot of things that I wanted but nothing I liked for the yarn I currently have.

Then I came home and remembered that, a while ago, I bought a bunch of knitpicks self-striping yarn that's meant to look like Four's scarf. I had planned to make myself some knee socks out of it, but never got around to them. So I found the world's easiest knee sock pattern and cast them on.

Man, socks are still my favorite ever thing to make. They just make me happy.

I know exactly which yarn you're thinking of, mostly because my SO has several balls of it waiting to be transformed into fingerless gloves to match the scarf she made me a few years ago when she was first starting. It is wonderful stuff and I am so glad they make it.

I cannot wait to see what it looks like as socks. Doctor Socks! That's awesome.

Socks are awesome! I cast on a new sock the other day because I'd finished a pair and I had a moment of "omg, do I *need* another pair of handknit socks?"

Then I told myself, duh, yes. And I cast on.
