darchildreI am having a frustrating weekend.
First, yesterday, my computer stopped working. I managed to save all the files and do a factory reset on it and put everything back today, which took hours. Things don't look right, though, because I'm using a newer version of firefox now and some of the programs and settings have been set up the same way since I got the computer and I don't remember what I did to make them look that way. And all the playlists in my iTunes are gone.
And then, the last thing I did was track down the software for my mp3 player and try to get that to work. Well, the computer knows the player's there and the program works but the program will not recognize the player. I've done all the workarounds I can find but all the information on the web is from 2007, so it's not really that much help. Which means that, after at least a year and a half of thinking that I really ought to get a new mp3 player (since mine is unreliable in a lot of ways and I use it nearly constantly) and not being able to find one I like, now the problem is somewhat more urgent, since I can't make any changes to its content. It is a Creative Zen and Creative no longer makes anything comparable to it. Right now, I am trying to do research as to other options because I specifically want something that does bookmarks. All the information on which mp3 players bookmark things is from 2009 which, again, not that helpful. I know the iPod does it, but its bookmarks functions don't work the way I want them to and I don't much like the iPod anyway. Though I may end up being stuck with it.
And on top of that, my car has gone from "eccentrically erratic" to "probably actively dangerous to drive" in that sometimes, when one brakes, the car doesn't really want to go forward afterward and thus goes through intersections very slowly. The problem is way too expensive to fix in a car this old and this unreliable, which means that I will have to get a new car. I can afford it, but the process is stressful and I've never done anything like it before.
I just really don't think it's fair that I am having all of these problems at once.
