darchildreIn the past week, since Rosie left, we've missed her quite a lot. Also, we've realized that we also miss having a dog in general, in addition to missing Rosie specifically. So we started thinking about getting a new dog. On Thursday, my parents visited the local Humane Society, just to look.
You see where this is going, right? We have a new dog - brought him home today.
His name is Jack, and he's a Dalmatian/German Shorthaired Pointer mix. He's an older dog - probably around eight - and underweight from being a stray (though he was microchipped before he turned up at the Humane Society) but he's just gorgeous. He's a lot bigger than Rosie and he has a tail, which is weird, and he is about the mellowest dog I've ever met. Seriously, he hasn't barked once. Which is also weird.
He's not Rosie and I still miss her a lot. But I'm glad we found a new dog and I'm glad we could give him a home.
