New monster doll!

This dude was made for a swap-bot swap, so I don't get to keep him. (I'll eventually have to make another zombie for me. Possibly a girl - women are as sadly underrepresented in my monster collection as they are in actual monster movies. I should really try to rectify that.) The body isn't ideal - I think the green shirt was probably a mistake - but I like the slightly detached arm. I think that worked out well. And the yarn for the skin is great - it's Vanna's Choice Grey Marble and it's got nice tweedy bits of other colors that imply, to my mind, decaying flesh. I was really happy when I found it.
The hair came out pretty well, too. It's scragglier and sparser than my normal doll hair (which means I have to attach less of it, which is awesome for me) and I think that worked nicely. I'll put the face in a little stronger next time - the nose and mouth don't show up as well against the grey as I'd like.
So that's one done out of the millions of projects I'm half way through. I have another doll to finish this weekend: the auction doll for help_nz (I get to make the Eleventh Doctor! He has a tiny bowtie and little suspenders!) and then I think no new swaps for a while. I have too much of my own knitting and crocheting and (apparently) pattern designing to do.
