- Yesterday, the Kingston library nearly caught fire. That is an exaggeration for effect, but there was a smoking outlet in the room next door and we did have to call the fire department and evacuate the building and close early. It was all very exciting and no one was injured in any way. Also, as we were standing in the parking lot with two fire trucks and an ambulance, at least three people walked up and asked if the library was still open and if they could get their holds. Library patrons are hilarious.
- I am nearly finished with my first pair of knitted socks! Hurrah!
- My grandmother has come for an extended visit. That's where my parents were this weekend - down in Alabama, fetching her. Now she is installed upstairs and Mom is showing her all the various dolls scattered around the house. It's nice having her here - I haven't seen her in far too long.
- I am resolutely not thinking about the fact that Nicholas Courtney has died, because if I do, I'm going to cry. However, I recently acquired dvds of Battlefield and Inferno. I think I will watch at least one of them tonight and toast the Brigadier.
