darchildreI am in that place where I really want to do crafty things. All the crafty things, except the one that I need to finish.
I really am almost done with Mom's birthday present. It'll be finished tomorrow. Possibly tonight.
But I want to start trying knitted things and also I have a pair of gloves that I suddenly want to work on again and I've been looking at Tunisian crochet stuff and I really want to learn to do Tunisian color work* and and and.
Too many crafts.
*See, when you do color work with normal crochet, it has to be in the round and it always has a sort of curve to it, so that the pattern sort of travels around the project a little bit. Tunisian crochet, however, doesn't turn the same way, so you can do color work on flat projects, and the stitches are stacked like little blocks. So you can use knitting charts or even cross stitch charts and the pattern doesn't warp.
Possibly you have seen the epic Mario blanket? That's Tunisian crochet. I wouldn't do Mario, personally, but it is still so. frelling. awesome.
