Jun. 16th, 2010 10:46 pmOn Monday morning, I went to the dentist. Nothing too freaky, just a routine cleaning, but dentistry is never pleasant. As I imagine many of you do, I spend most trips to the dentist trying to think about something - anything - other than the sharp pointy bits of metal that are being poked around my mouth. This time, it varied between telling myself Farscape stories and thinking about monsters that I have not yet crocheted and how I could manage to do so.
And then this happened:

He has a fin on his back as well but you can't see it.

Rar!
I've never been a huge fan of Creature From the Black Lagoon, but I do have a bit of thing about Deep Ones* and fish people in general. So now I have made one. I think he's the first of my monsters that actually looks a little scary.
There may be one up in the Monster Shop eventually, but I have to keep the first one of any monster. I am a terribly selfish crafter, to be honest, and have trouble giving things away unless I've already made one for me. 8)
*Oh, like you don't at least want to see pictures of cyclopean and many-columned Y'ha-nthlei.
