Apr. 20th, 2010 01:07 pmTuesday is the day that I eat two meals at work (neither of them in my car, hurrah!), so I bring my lunch and stop at the grocery store on the way to the library to buy my dinner.
I love my grocery store. It is enormous and full of weird organic foods and exciting international foods and new varieties of apples. (Opal apples are incredibly yellow and very tasty indeed, if you get a chance to try one. Lady Alice apples are pretty awesome too.) I am totally spoiled by my grocery store.
Sometimes, it means that I end up buying weird new things just because I've never seen it before and it looks interesting. Today, I was browsing in the bulk section, thinking about getting some dried apricots, when I noticed that they have dried cantaloupe spears. "Huh," I thought. "Well, I like cantaloupe. Maybe I will try that."
So I bought three of them and sampled one on the way to work. OMG, you guys, dried cantaloupe is amazing. I bought some dried papaya too and that is also pretty good but the cantaloupe is just awesome.
