Dec. 15th, 2009 12:39 pmI made my peppermint cherry cookies yesterday and stuck two in my lunch today. They are amazing and delicious, and so I will share the recipe with you.
It is right here. Well, basically, anyway. I rolled mine in powdered sugar before baking instead of using turbinado, and I left the stems on the cherries 'cause I think it looks neat. But those are aesthetic things.
There are a couple annotations I would make to the recipe. First of all, I find that the tassies need to cook for about five minutes longer than they say, but your oven may differ. Also, when it says "cool in the pan for a few minutes", they seriously mean it. They will crumble if you take them out too soon.
But the most important change is USE MUFFIN WRAPPERS. The recipe does not say to, but if you don't, they will not come out of the pan at all and you will be sad.
But if you use muffin wrappers, they will be beautiful and delicious. Enjoy!
