I am sincerely glad to be back at choir but my gods, there has been an entire global pandemic and yet people at choir continue to randomly touch me.

There is no one in my life I want putting their hands on my small of my back. I don't understand why it isn't a universal rule that you don't do that without discussion.

Smear vaseline on your clothing right in that spot so when they touch you they feel something gross. ;-)

Ugh ugh ugh.

I'm holding off choir for one more year (mine started back in September, and my September was crazy), but thankfully I've never had people randomly touching me during it. I would not handle that well.

There's a particular kind of Older White Lady that appears to think that casual touch between apparently-female acquaintances is completely okay and always welcome, and my choir is full of them. They're all very nice otherwise, but still.

The worst part is - well, no, the worst part is the touching itself. But the second worst part is that, somehow, if I flinch or take a step back or say something, suddenly I am the one who's committed a faux pas. Ugh.
