Things:
- I am on vacation now! Mom and Dad don't leave till tomorrow, though, so I can't take over the table with board game paraphernalia yet.
- Also tomorrow, I am making apple pie and sour cream pudding (it's kinda sorta rommegrot but probably not quite actually rommegrot - I got the recipe from a Sons of Norway lady, though, so maybe it counts) as vacation treats. I'm very excited about it.
- Yesterday, it was grey and cold and rainy all day. Today, it is sunny, but in an autumnal way with lots of cold wind. I'm so extremely happy that the weather has finally turned towards fall. I put a down comforter on my bed last night and everything.
- Today, I am binding off the body of my current sweater project, and then I just need to knit the sleeves. ("Just," she says, like that will only take a minute.) So ideally the sweater will be done just in time for the weather to get really cold.
- The HPLFF is happening soon in Portland, and I did take time off for it months ago when things were opening up, but I made the decision that, while I might feel okay sitting in a movie theater with other people for a single film, I don't actually feel comfortable doing it for a whole weekend. (I get con crud every year at the HPLFF already. I don't want to chance it right now.) Which is a bit disappointing, as I love my yearly film festival trip. But! They are at least still offering a streaming option for those of us not attending in person, so I can at least still watch some terrible obscure horror films. Next year, fingers crossed, I'll get to attend in person.
- That said, I did still back the kickstarter to get the streaming pass and also this year's tshirt and pin. (The design this year is reminiscent of Metropolis and I really like it.) Which means that, next time I attend, I'll have enough HPLFF tshirts to wear one each day of the festival, and the day I come home on the train. So that's something.
