A fundamental difference between my coworkers and myself is that if there is an unidentified beeping noise in our vicinity, my immediate reaction is Find It And Make It Stop, whereas they seem content to just...let the beeping continue, I guess, until someone else gets to it. I suspose it doesn't bother them? What is that even like?

Anyway, today we learned a) that the breakroom fridge beeps if you leave the door open and b) apparently this beeping only registers as a problem for me.

Aigh. What kind of monsters are those people, that they are ignoring a warning sign like that?

We have an electrical closet that beeps from time to time when They (the mysterious They who oversee our university's electric stuff) run tests. It is suuuuuuper aggravating, and unlike my other coworkers, I don't have an office with a door that shuts. And the beeping can be for just a couple minutes, or HOURS. There is no knowing, and we never know when it's going to happen. If it goes on for a lengthy period of time, I try to find an excuse to go upstairs and work in the stacks.

But it definitely bothers all of us, so I don't know what kind of noise-loving gremlins you're working with.
