Aaand I just got a text from my supervisor telling me that the library system is going to be closed to the public from March 18th through April 20th.
I'm not really surprised, and I'm extremely lucky in that our emergency closure is going to be paid time, but damn.
Guess I'm going to get a lot of work done on my various knitting project, huh.

Date: 2020-03-14 09:30 pm (UTC)I'm actually on vacation anyway, 16th-20th, and because the state isn't shut down, right now it looks like we'll still get to go to Rehoboth as usual. I am...cautiously optimistic(?) about that.

Date: 2020-03-14 09:34 pm (UTC)Seattle is basically becoming a ghost town and the surrounding area is slowly shutting down as well. The schools are closing in my county at the same time the library does and my sisters (who both live in Seattle) have been working from home for at least a week now. It's crazy.
Oh hell, I really should write to my D&D group and cancel this week's session, probably.

Date: 2020-03-15 07:04 pm (UTC)Honestly, I am far more anxious about the fact that I'm at work today, because the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was from UD, than I am about my vacation. We go to Rehoboth in March because it's out of season - very quiet, no crowds. We've already decided that we will likely be getting most of our food take-out and back to our hotel room (we go for the food) if we can't keep a safe distance from other people and such. We were already quite good about hand washing regularly because we deal with the public, but we've upped frequency with that as well...
Thankfully, it's quiet at work today. I'm trying to keep up on social media and websites for the restaurants we want food from, and keep up on articles about closures and such... Mostly, I'm waiting for the results of the recent testing to come back. I'm kind of expecting that by the time I'm "back" from vacation, the store might be closed for the rest of the month. And I'm so very okay with that.
Not that I am okay with the idea of getting sick myself, because I'm not, but my main fear is that I live with my elderly father, who is immunocompromized, and the fact that people are hoarding basic things (tp, various foods, purel, santizing wipes) that I need to keep him safe in our house...
I think I'm going to journal. I was panicked this morning. I'm feeling better now, but my body is still responding as stressed.
