So, the library where I work is located inside a community center. The community center has a lot of its own programming and rents out its own rooms. There's also a Boys&Girls club in the community center which is, again, its own thing.

Recently, a mouse was found in the community center and there have been huge discussion as to whose problem this is. It was found in the community center so maybe it is their problem? But the library provides custodial support to the whole building, so maybe it is ours? Maybe it is here because of the food kept in the Boys&Girls club so the mouse is their problem actually?

I am not much personally involved in this mouse issue. Mostly, I am quietly delighted because people keep using hilarious phrases like "jurisdiction over the mouse".

I keep imagining the mouse on trial in Mouse Court. Possibly presided over by a judge who is also a rat king. Although Mouse Court is presumably located in the States, I like to imagine that the rat king is wearing many tiny wigs as he holds court.

Also, I'm bet they spend more time arguing than actually solving the problem.
