Goofy thoughts that I had yesterday:

- Last night, I was at choir rehearsal and we were singing a song about angels (because it’s Christmas music time in choir) and my director - who is trying to get my community choir to work a little on visual presentation - told us to try to look like angels while we sang. And yeah, I know what he meant, but I did have a long internal moment of “How do I make myself look as though I am entirely composed of terrifying wheels and eyes?”

- I think the real reason that The King in Yellow has actually made me legit a little bit superstitiously scared of the Tattered King, to the point that I really only even think about him in euphemisms, is the fact that I know myself and I know that, were I given access to the titular play, I would not be able to resist reading it and would therefore inevitably bring about my own destruction.

- I really wish there was a genre-name word that essentially meant "things that remind me of Sapphire & Steel". I think I would find that very useful.

Haha, the Yellow King had that affect on me too! Still does, to some degree. There's something truistic about a book (thinly disguised as itself) that is presented as provoking madness, and then the dim anxiety of horror that feels like a possible reflection of the fiction. Unfortunately this also had the affect of provoking a weird research rabbit hole for me that took me a while to wrest myself out of, so I'm still slightly wary of the whole topic, because it brings out the obbsessive side of me. :/

Also re: Sapphire and Steel, aaaaaah my favorite of that series is the haunted train station one, partly because a British game designer based his game from the premise. It's really quite excellent, called Dark Fall the Journal. Possibly cosmic British existential horror?

Re: angel. Large crafty googly eyes. Attach as desired :D

I don't know about terrifying wheels and eyes, but I do request pictures of it ever comes to pass.
