It is 10:40, we've been open since 10, there have been exactly 2 patrons in the library thus far. They came in, looked at one thing, and then walked out. It is eerily silent. Not even the people who come in every day at opening to check their email have been in.

This is extremely unusual and a little bit creepy.

Either there's been some sort of library-patron-specific Rapture or everyone else woke up this morning feeling, as I did, that today really just didn't need to happen and went back to bed.

If that's the case, I am filled with terrible envy.

That's very surprising. Usually the quiet hours are the ones right before closing, when it's all the late night customers.
