I bought a bottle of meadowfoam honey recently, because the internet told me that meadowfoam honey tastes like marshmallow. The thing about buying honey varietals is that, sometimes, what the internet tells you is true - bigleaf maple honey does taste like menthol, buckwheat honey does taste like molasses and damp hay* - but sometimes, it's like when you buy tea from a fancy tea website that refers to brewed tea as "liquor" and tells you that there will be hints of apricot and dark chocolate, when in fact, it is mostly going to taste like tea.

Though possibly I just don't have a particularly sophisticated palate.

In any case. I put the meadowfoam honey in my tea this morning and friends, it does indeed taste strongly of marshmallow. As that is entirely delightful, I am going to have to continue buying meadowfoam honey whenever I can find it available.

*In a good way, if you're into that. Buckwheat honey is maybe not for everyone.

Yay I'm glad you like your marshmallow tea! I think buckwheat honey sounds awesome, though chances are good I might be allergic as I'm allergic to grass, etc.
