It's June 11th, it's going to be nearly 80 degrees today, and the sun has been shining into my bedroom window since 5 am. It will continue to do so until 9:45 tonight.

HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE INAUGURATION OF THIS YEAR'S SEASONAL DEPRESSION!!! That's right - it's time to entirely lose my ability to sleep well, but gain the ability to simultaneously feel incredibly restless and incredibly unmotivated to do anything that normally gives me joy! Plus, I get to have a constant feeling of overstimulation - like someone is slowly scraping a fork across the surface of my brain for hours on end - because everything is too bright and too hot and generally too much! Add to that the exciting bonus of everyone around me being incredulous that I don't, like them, love summer so much!

BRB, researching logistics on how to hibernate in a cave until late September.

Oof. So sorry. I don't know if blackout curtains and a room air conditioner will help any, but they can help make things more bearable for us in summer.

I hate summer as well... Well, I didn't mind it so much growing up in England but I LOATHE it living in the American South where my brain boils from May through quite a bit of October. :(
