One of my coworkers recently got a new puppy. Another coworker recently found a lost dog and is trying to advertise that she found him (but also really hopes he doesn't get claimed so she can keep him).
Dogs are cool. I love my dog. I've loved every dog we've ever had.
But! I don't turn every single conversation inevitably to a discussion of my dog. I've been at work for 15 minutes and we've already had to talk about both of them. I mentioned a knitting project I'm working on and one of them immediately pivoted that to a discussion of their dog. ("Oh, I'd love to find more time for crafts but, you know, I'm just so preoccupied with my puppy!")
If I have to have another conversation about either of these dogs, I'm going to scream.
