Aug. 2nd, 2022 11:59 amI haven't posted in forever, oh my goodness. I don't have anything substantive to post about, but I do have some random thoughts, so here they are:
- I went on a vacation! The first going-away vacation I've been on since March of 2020. It was lovely - I stayed in a tiny cabin and did yarn crafts and played board games and rpgs and didn't talk to anyone. Highly recommended.
- While I was on vacation, someone at my workplace has somehow disabled or broken the center-click function of the mouse at our front desk computer. In asking about it, I learned that I am the only person who uses the center-click function and no one knows what happened to the mouse. I can't figure out how to make it work again and it's driving me crazy.
- While on vacation, I started reading Egil's Saga, which I've started before but never finished. It's been a while since I read an Icelandic saga that wasn't Volsungasaga and they are still entirely delightful. I love how matter of fact this saga writer is about the supernatural. There's a bit fairly early on where a bunch of dudes go to meet with King Harald Fairhair and the narrator is all "and several of them were shapeshifters". They do not shapeshift in the text and this is never mentioned again, which is both disappointing and very funny.
- After a week or so of 90-degree sunny weather, today we are having a cooler rainy day and I'm so happy.
