Aug. 9th, 2020 02:43 pmLast week, I asked my sisters and my sibling-in-law if, instead of our weekly D&D game, they'd like to try playing Microscope. They said yes and we had what I thought was a fun (if occasionally awkward) time, but it's sometimes hard to tell if people enjoyed themselves over voice chat and I had been a little worried about it.
This week, my sibling-in-law texted me to ask if we could play Microscope again, this time to develop backstory for the Beam Saber campaign they want to run, because they had so much fun playing it last week. And then, they and my sister and I spent two hours doing collaborative world building and now we have a colony of sapient whales living on Io and space witches and sentient computers creating new religions and it's fucking great.
So anyway, Microscope is a very good game. We're going to play again next week and I'm extremely excited.
