Nov. 9th, 2019 01:54 pmThis morning, I looked at my current knitting and spinning projects and found myself uninspired to work on any of them, so I started something new. I have some spinning wool I bought a year ago that I planned to spin into a worsted weight yarn (since I've never done that) and then use as part of a pair of colorwork mittens. I had also planned to draw the chart for the mittens myself using this template, but didn't actually have a chart drawn yet.
So while I was spinning, I figured I'd think about what I wanted my mittens to look like. The conversation went as follows:
Me: Okay, what's a design that I wouldn't mind having on a pair of mittens, is something I would enjoy, and something I feel like I could represent well in a fairly simple knitting chart design?
Also Me, the Me that hasn't had a day in the last two and a half months where she hasn't thought about The Magnus Archives: ELDRITCH CLUSTERS OF EYES!
Original Me: ...what an excellent and not at all cursed idea.
So yeah, I've spent the last hour or so charting various stylized eyes onto a mitten template. Hilariously, this is not the most cursed yarn craft object I've ever planned to make - that prize goes to the time I decided to chart the Yellow Sign for a project before realizing that I would never be able to bring myself to wear something with the Yellow Sign on it.
