Jan. 3rd, 2015 05:11 pmOne of my resolutions for 2015 is to actually go outside at least a little every week. So since today was the first day off I've had in a while, I went for a little hike at Buck Lake.
It was completely lovely. It was cool but not wet and apparently very few people go hiking in January, so it was so quiet. Plus, I saw two ravens - I see crows all the time, but ravens very rarely, so I was excited.
Winter is my favorite time for being outdoors. It rarely gets very cold here - today it was in the 40's, which is perfectly comfortable with a hat and sweater - and everything, even the light, is quieter. Everything is sleeping till spring and it's so peaceful.
It's amazing how much more settled in myself I feel after taking a walk in the winter.
