Apr. 30th, 2013 06:50 pmA number of people have asked me in the past few days if I enjoyed my impromptu vacation last week while the library was closed.
I realize that they have no way of knowing that we were actually still at work all that time, only it was more awkward because we weren't at a place that we know, and we were surplus to requirements anyway, so there wasn't enough to do, and we had to schlep back and forth from one library to another everyday to empty the bookdrops, and for the first several days we were constantly worried that the building would be condemned and the situation would continue indefinitely and we'd never have a new building. They have no way of knowing that we weren't all getting to spend that week at home, watching tv and eating candy.
Still. It is weirdly infuriating.
