Dec. 4th, 2011 08:29 amSpent all of yesterday doing disastrous Christmas knitting. I made a hat for [name redacted] which ended up being tragically small. Like, baby hat small. Also, several times during the making of it, I discovered that I had made tremendous mistakes two rows ago and had to rip things out to fix it. So, obviously, the hat was cursed. I have unraveled the whole thing and tomorrow I will start a new hat with a new pattern that hopefully will end up not being cursed. Today, I am not making any hats in order to cleanse myself of the hatred that hat engendered.
Instead, I am making tiny hexagons for the blanket I linked to the other day. They are easy and soothing and one feels a sense of accomplishment when one has finished making one of them. So far, I have a red one, a bright yellow variegated one, and half of a custard colored one. Since I will probably need over a thousand for the blanket I want to make, this is not very much of a start, but they give me joy anyway.
And they aren't hats.
