Sep. 29th, 2009 02:22 pmSo! Today, we have gotten new counters in the Kingston library. Well, I say counters, but really they are adjustable-height boomerang-shaped tables. (The adjustable-height thing is apparently very important to my boss. I personally do not see us adjusting the height that often and so am less enthused.)
Bad things about the new counters: less work space. Also, OMG, I feel so exposed! The old counters were like a fortress, swear to god. These are all open. It's freaky. What am I supposed to hide behind when the zombies invade? Also, there is no storage.
Good things: the shipment boxes are right behind us now, which is handy. I can see the whole of the kid's area and most of the adult area from my desk. And because they are two separate tables, rather than one continuous counter, no one can do that thing where they decide to stand in the middle of the two computers and thus completely invade my personal space, forcing me to step away. So that's nice.
Hopefully, they'll end up working out. After all, we're stuck with them till we get the new building (five years from now). I'm going to hope that the zombies hold off the invasion till then.
