Why the hell do people keep asking what roads we drove on to get to Crater Lake last week? Is everyone really vitally interested in roads? Seriously, is this one of those basic human things that I missed out on, like not liking potatoes or sex?

I got in a car, my Dad drove, I read a book, eventually we were there. I suppose I could understand it if something eventful had happened while we were driving but no, that's it. And yet, when I tell people this, they look at me incredulously - "How could that not be interesting to you?"

I appear to have reached another translation gap between me and the normal people.
