Apr. 24th, 2015 03:37 pmHaving finished The Goblin Emperor*, I am now reading The Bone Doll's Twin. (For which this post will contain some mild spoilers.) I read this one and the second in the trilogy, but not the third, as it hadn't come out yet, when I was in college and I remembered a) that it was about a girl being magically raised as a boy and b) that I had really enjoyed it.
What I did not remember was the deeply creepy dead baby magic. So that's awesome. (I realize that sounds sarcastic. I am completely sincere - I am totally here for creepy dead baby magic.)
I also seem to recall reading this book and Iain Banks' The Wasp Factory in pretty quick succession, though I can't remember if I did that on purpose. That must have been a fun couple weeks of creepy genderfuckery. Maybe I should reread that as well.
*Which I loved so much, OMG. I did not want that book to end.

Like to the point where my friend who reads literally hundreds of books a year hasn't finished the first one. I thought I'd give a heads up in case you wanted to poke at her other books.)
