For the past three days, I have had a Jax, whom I have not seen since I moved to Washington 13 years ago. So that was awesome!
She likes New Who but had not seen any Classic Who, so we had to marathon some of that. I fear it was a bit confusing, as I basically made a pile of my favorite episodes, handed the pile to her, and told her to pick what she wanted to watch based on my very condensed and slightly mocking one-sentence description. "This is the one where the Master tries to conquer the world with plastic daffodils," etc. We ended up with Genesis of the Daleks, Terror of the Autons, The Five Doctors, Battlefield, and Remembrance of the Daleks, so I feel like we didn't do too badly. And I got to make her watch Bride of Frankenstein and The Wicker Man as well.
And we went to Seattle! I took her to the Market, and she wanted to go up the Space Needle, so we did that, and the Chihuly Garden, and the bits of the EMP that aren't about music. (There's nothing wrong with the bits of the EMP that are about music. I assume. I've never actually seen them. Right now, there's a horror exhibit, so...)
I would have liked to take her up to Hurricane Ridge, but alas, we ran out of time. And it was fun, but it was also a little exhausting so today, I am calling in sick. Which means I get to miss a staff meeting as well, hurrah!
