A patron just made the mistake of telling me that she wants to start watching Doctor Who, doesn't know where to start, and just wants me to pick a few serials to put on hold for her. I am trying to keep my love for things that are not universally recognized as being awesome from overwhelming my choices. (Maybe Invasion of Time is not the best thing to immediately show a newbie.)

I am somewhat hampered by the library's dvd selection, however. In that we have Time-Flight but don't have Genesis of the Daleks or the Mind Robber. So I assume that we are left with the Doctor Who dvds that nobody wants enough to steal and no one watches enough for them to wear out.

So, she's getting Ark in Space, Tomb of the Cybermen, Claws of Axos, and Robots of Death. Not too shabby. 8)

Nut bad at all. The other possible start point is the one I started with - start with the beginning of Nine and go straight on from there, stepping backward into other serials when warranted or when you have time.
