Jun. 11th, 2013 08:40 pmI complain occasionally about the fact that my bedroom window faces east* and thus, in the brighter part of the year, is extremely sunny extremely early in the morning, but it does have the advantage of making my windowsill a really great place to grow potted plants.
Right now, I have a dandelion and a pot each of marigolds and nasturtiums, which are growing like crazy but haven't flowered yet, and a pot of pansies which just started showing sprouts today. I am not much of a gardener and have basically no interest in gardening that happens outside, but my little potted plants make me happy every time I see them.
*Literally every time I think that, I have this little Eowyn voice in my head saying "My window does not look eastward." This is what a lifetime of geekery will do to you.
