And today is the Kingston staff meeting, which is also doubling as the "holiday party". Which will mean that there will be slightly more cookies than usual and possibly not-actually-fun activities.

I am having a somewhat marshwiggly morning.

On the other hand, we are doing a gift exchange. Specifically, in honor of The Hobbit, a mathom exchange. And my mom has been doing a lot of cleaning and reorganizing lately, which has led to a bunch of knick-knack things being put aside for Goodwill. One of these is a large wooden rooster. It's about 2 1/2 feet high, and it is what I have decided to bring as my mathom. Because giant wooden chicken! Who doesn't want that? I have put it in a giant bag covered with pictures of the Justice League (because a) it is the only gift bag we have that's big enough and b) hilarious) and covered it in tissue paper in order to disguise its chicken-ness. I have no idea who's going to get the chicken, but I hope they appreciate it.

When my dad retired, his co-workers gave him a huge wooden rooster. It's amazing. I told him he should put it outside by their front door. He was like, "But what if someone steals it???" I was like, "Dad, who is going to walk off with that thing? It's not like you can tuck it into your pocket and pretend it doesn't exist."
