The Kingston Friends of the Library put on a Trivia Challenge Event thing tonight. Since I enjoy supporting the library and also know a lot of random things*, I decided to go. And to take my parents with me, because they are fun people and, really, we collectively don't get out enough.
We totally kicked everybody else's ass. Because we are just that awesome.
Also, it was so much less stressful than I had imagined. I had sort of envisioned a thing where you'd have to answer out loud and there might be a speed element but no, just writing stuff down and passing your answers to the MC. Pretty much, it is a game tailor-made for my shy-and-introverted family and me.
Apparently, the guy who ran it also runs similar events at various places around the county. There are several very close to where we live.
We are totally going again.
*My one great talent in this life is remembering totally random, semi-useless things. So, for example, I can tell you off the top of my head when each of James Whale's horror films were made, the name of every actor who's ever played the Doctor (including the extra-canonical), which episodes of Farscape Braca is in, and what a pinniped is, but I can't for the life of me tell you the name of the woman who sits in front of my in choir whom I have known casually for several years. I am ridiculous.
