I don't know if this happens to other people, but at least 90% of the time, if I'm not really thinking about anything in particular and don't have a certain song stuck in my head and just randomly start singing, it is the same song. Does that happen to other people? I mean, it's been the same song for years - whenever I'm just sort of singing whatever pops into my head, it is that song.
Ever since I was about 10, it was The Butcher Boy. Which, yes, does mean that I am often wandering around singing about suicidal Irish girls and their illegitimate babies. I mention this because it just happened again.
Do you have a song that is always the song you end up singing? What is it?

Date: 2012-10-18 02:39 am (UTC)A few years ago, it was the line "Oh, God, I think I'm falling out of the sky, I close my eyes... Heaven, help me!" from Madonna's "Like a Prayer" It started when I first started getting serious anxiety attacks because of my job at the time.
About a year or so ago, it was the song "Please Don't Leave Me" by P!nk.
Currently, it's "Fight Like A Girl" by Emilie Autumn, though. :)
