So, we went to a play today - more community theater - that was based on old time radio horror plays. Bits of it were dreadful but bits of it were fun.
Anyway, one of the segments was so familiar that I'm sure I've listened to the play it's based on. But I can't remember which it is! I know this is a long shot, but maybe one of you can identify it.
It's a pretty standard set-up: scientist has discovered the secret of giving life to the dead. His name is David. He has a wife named Ruth that he deeply loves. Ruth dies in a horrible accident and David revives her. However, she has come back without a soul and thus is evil and deranged. She also can't really talk and basically parrots things back at people. She spends much of the rest of the play saying "Ruth...loves...David" over and over while stabbing people. Eventually, they both die.
It's the "Ruth...loves...David" that really seems familiar. Anyone else heard this one?
