darchildreSometimes, when it is very slow on Tuesday nights, I end up poking around on Etsy, looking for stuffed robots. (Or astronauts. Or rocket ships.)
I have yet to find quite the stuffed robot I want. Really, I should just make one myself. My crocheted efforts have been fairly unsatisfying but I feel like I might be able to sew one. Sort of a ragdoll robot. Robots are nice because they're made of obvious, hardlined shapes.
I'm very fond of robots. Not so much in fiction - fictional robots often do very little for me* - but I find them visually very pleasing.
I did find this, though. And while it isn't a robot, it is pretty awesome. I may have to buy the pattern and make one.
*Well, I have my own fictional robot/android people that I play with sometimes. But they are a bit silly and also it is very obvious that I was reading Asimov and Herbert at the time I was making them up and stealing all the bits I liked from those authors and gleefully jettisoning all the actual science and logic. And then adding weird-ass robot religions because, y'know, it's me. So they don't get shared, so much. But sometimes I dress up like them and don't tell people.
