darchildreCleaning, cleaning.
Since this is all with the major spring cleaning, I have cleaned out my enormous yarn basket and gotten rid of all the bits of skeins I know I'll never use and all the half skeins of various Red Heart colors that I'd kept "because they'd be good for dolls" but never used and that weird bag of ugly bulky-weight (I don't think I've ever made anything with bulky-weight yarn) that someone sent me in a swap once. And I put all the worsted-weight in the big basket and all the fingering-weight in another basket, so at least I'll be able to find all the sock yarn. I have also made my peace with the fact that I'm never actually going to crochet socks again and thus I should probably unravel all the half-finished pairs I've made and use that yarn for knitted socks, which will work better anyway.
Doing that frees up a hell of a lot of stitch markers, I've got to tell you.
I haven't quite given up on the sweater I started crocheting two years ago and I have squares from an afghan that I was once making for Katie and haven't worked on for about three years. Those went at the bottom of the yarn basket, where they will continue to make me feel guilty but where I still won't return to them. Ah, well. I still have a ridiculous amount of yarn, but I am getting rid of about a garbage-bag full. And the rest looks neater. So that's something.
Oh, lord, I haven't even looked at the closet yet. Maybe I will actually manage to get all the clothes off the floor.
