Relationship things: I am so terribly glad that we didn't have some sort of long, drawn-out "Peter is hiding things from Olivia" plot. One of the things that I love about Fringe is the way that characters acts like actual people about important things. If they hide things, they have actual, legitimate, in-character reasons for hiding them. If they don't have those reasons, they actually talk about things. It is so pleasing. Also! It is lovely seeing Olivia so happy. I know that it probably won't last, but I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
Anna Torv's Leonard Nimoy impression is pretty hilarious. Also, hurrah, all the random bell-ringing back in season one had an actualfax purpose! I love when things like that happen.
I am terribly excited about next week. More of the Leonard Nimoy impression! Our universe's version of Lincoln Lee! Wearing adorable dorky glasses! (Oh, I am so sad that our Charlie is dead. I would love to see our universe's version of that trio - I bet they would have been epic.)
Also, okay, so this is where areas of specialized knowledge become a hindrance. So, Mom and I looked at the episode title for tonight, which was Os. And I immediately think, "Os - Anglo-Saxon futhorc, that means 'mouth' or 'estuary'. And it's the equivalent of ansuz, so we get the meaning 'god' in there, too." And Mom says, "Os, that's a medical term. It means an opening." And we have this whole conversation about what that could mean for the plot of the episode. After which, we watch it and discover that in fact, the title refers to the symbol for the element Osmium.
I'm still a little disappointed that it didn't turn out to be rune-related.
